Good Midnite

AH... no matter how many times i furiously close and open my eyes, i still cant shake the foggy feeling off. Ugh... My eyes still feel heavy. Well, what can i complain? At least i managed to get 5 hours sleep. Never knew i was in such dire need of sleep till i literally passed out the moment my head hit my soft, comfy pillow.

Today (or yesterday!??! ) is a good day. We went to the Northwest Texas Healthcare System: Children's Hospital so that i can have an in-depth understanding of March of Dimes as a healthy baby organization that is strongly active in the fight against prematurity. The hospistal has a remarkable facility that can provide both public and private need: from media room, playground for children which is considered their sanctuary for anything related to medicine, not even doctors, is allowed in; to private rooms, each seem to be isolated and equipped with everything possible for a personal reason to bring out the most comfortable atmosphere. One of the coolest things i learn is they have the most creative idea that i called it "happy ceiling" where the kids draw these little cute pictures that every time you look up, you cant help but smiling and "Awww.."

NCIU is a restricted area where premature babies are recieved intensive care and love when they need it most. I had never realized and cared about them untill i've got involved with MoD. However, it was absolutely different feeling when i actually got a chance to witness with my own eyes how fragile and how tiny they are. If you take out a dollar bill then you will know how "big" some of them can be. Sometimes their parents are not allowed to hug them for they havent fully developed strong enough to protect their veins, and that hugging is only meant to bring pain. Another cool thing MoD giving out is that we help to put on the " Quiet Please" sign that will alert doctors/nurses by staying lighted and fading out when you make loud noises that can put those babies into state of shock for their hearing sense is so accurate.

It left me in awe...

It was indeed a good day!

  1. I imagine and put myself in what you describe about yr good day, and indeed it is. It has been long time I never experience this kind of good day, just find out sth interesssting outside for unknown reason or might be for myself only, rather be selfish thinking.

Again good for you, good midnite
